Assists in all aspects of law enforcement as needed by the Fort Bend County Sheriff. Patrols assigned area, answers calls for service, investigates criminal activity, submits reports and makes arrests. Serves criminal warrants and enforces the law within the State of Texas.
Patrols Fort Bend County to deter crime. May work with traffic enforcement/traffic investigation. May serve criminal warrants as directed. Secures and preserves crime scenes. Assists public within scope of authority. May perform other law enforcement functions as needed.
High school diploma/GED; TCOLE peace officer license. Prior law enforcement experience or significant other experience and education. Strong verbal communication skills; the ability to interact effectively with the public. Valid Texas driver license, and firearms proficiency.
SALARY RANGE: Volunteer - No Salary
Applicants must complete the online application for a posted Sheriff's office position. Once the online application is complete, go to the Sheriff's Personnel Office to schedule an appointment to take a Nelson Denny test. After the applicant passes the Nelson Denny test, then they will pick up the long form application to complete.
