Provides support with the records management and administrative support within the Public Transportation Department. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. The duration of this project is approximately 6-8 months.
Establishes a system to maintain both paper and electronic documents in an efficient, accurate, and confidential manner that complies with County and State law. Manages archiving, scanning and storage of all documents. Responsible for management of all department records and forms/publications. Develops new methods of records management that utilize current technologies. Records destruction requests to ensure that records disposal is performed in a timely and secure manner. Performs administrative personnel tasks as needed. Participates in activities and duties related to Emergency Management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. The duration of this assignment is approximately 6-8 months.
High School Diploma/GED; Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. At least three (3) years of administrative experience that includes at least one year in records management. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision especially with regard to the management of the archives. Excellent planning and organizational skills and great attention to detail. Working knowledge of word processing software; Good verbal and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to interact, coordinate and deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials. Certified in Records Management (CRM) preferred.
SALARY: $15.00 - $18.00/hour, based on qualifications, up to 28 hours per week for approximately 6-8 months
