Provides management for the assessment, technical analysis, maintenance and repair of county library buildings and components. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
Develops management processes and procedures to effectively and efficiently utilize personnel and equipment in order to control outside expenditures and eliminate unnecessary expense. Provides leadership and training of supervisors, technicians and staff in proper maintenance techniques to keep pace with more technical and demanding building systems and instrumentations. Defines scope of work details for competitive bidding for major building systems and infrastructure needs. Develops preventative maintenance program to extend equipment lifecycles and efficient operations and provides recommendations for reducing operation and maintenance costs for county buildings. Assesses, analyzes, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations and malfunctions. Recommends selection of new employees; employee transfers/promotions, disciplining/discharging and salary increases. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
High School Diploma/GED; Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred. Five years of contract, supervisory or management experience in maintenance, MEP or related field. Functional computer skills, good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong management and supervisory skills and management software experience. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and make decisions, manage time well and perform multiple tasks, and organize diverse activities. HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing knowledge and/or training
SALARY RANGE: Professional/Management Grade 10, $1,757.60 - $2,068.00 biweekly, based upon qualifications
