Operates light and heavy equipment to maintain County roads, bridges and rights of way and County’s network of drainage channels. May Be 40 hours Per Week; Funded for Special Project.
Drives dump truck throughout County. Maintains equipment on a scheduled basis; maintains maintenance records. Grades ditches, elevations, drainage channels, sets culverts, and finishes concrete work. Performs shop duties as needed. Assists with construction projects. Assists other employees with their duties; Held accountable for all equipment used. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
High School Diploma/GED; Two (2) years of related work experience as an Equipment Operator. Good driving skills, good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees. Ability to understand and carry out instructions and complete assignments in a timely fashion; thorough knowledge of and ability to operate required heavy equipment; knowledge of road design and/or drainage channel design construction and maintenance. Must have a Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License. This position is funded for a Special Project and end date is not known at this time.
SALARY RANGE: Part-Time, $18.00 per hour, based on qualifications, Up to 40 hours per week, end date is not known at this time
