Overview

Provides support and assistance to the Office of the County Treasurer through performance of listed duties and responsibilities.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities

Processes county deposits in accordance with state law; Prepares money for deposits.  Monitors bank accounts, run reports and transfers money between accounts.  Performs accounts payable transfers and other transfers for Auditor’s Office; Registers invoices.  Maintains files of Boon-Chapman check registers in Lawson; Communicates between bank and Boon-Chapman on issues with positive pay files and/or check registers.  Assists with Lawson finance module training.  Processes returned payments; Researches original deposit information, complies reports and maintains records of all returned payments.  Assists with Banking Specialist III/System Specialist duties such as biweekly and semi-monthly payroll processing, bank transfers and receipting County deposits.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. 

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED; Three years job related experience.  Experience in bookkeeping, cash handling and accounting preferred.  Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).  Skilled in Excel, Word and Lawson preferred.  Good verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with others.  Good organizational skills and self-starter.  Works well with others and willingness to help others when needed.  Good time management skills.

 

SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 8, $1,263.20 - $1,487.20 biweekly based on qualifications
