Provides administrative and clerical support to the department to ensure effective and productive workflow.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.


Manages formal solicitation process including compiling mailing list, post on website, receive and secure responses, mail award notifications, and post tabulation on website.  Responsible for issuance and execution of expedited purchase orders for departments and determines if request meets Purchasing guidelines in order to allow departments to make time sensitive purchases.  Issues resolution with department representatives regarding entering requisitions in Lawson System to provide solutions to allow for purchases to proceed.  Issues resolution with vendors regarding bid solutions, purchase order questions, vendor registration, etc., to provide solutions to allow for continuation of professional working relationship with vendors.  Assists in managing vendor tables within Lawson System to allow for up-to-date information for Purchasing and accounts payable to perform business processes.  Responds to telephone calls by answering inquiries and/or directing to proper person; Greets visitors.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.


High School Diploma/GED; Five years job related experience.  Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).  Ability to interact and deal effectively with other employees, the public and public officials.  Strong organizational skills and good verbal and writing communication skills.  Ability to multi-task. 


SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 10, $1,455.20 - $1,712.80 biweekly, based on qualifications
