  • Overview

    Provides clerical support for department and/or assigned group and receptionist duties.

    Responsibilities

    Responds to telephone calls and directs to proper person.  Greets the public and directs to proper area or person.  Collects fees and makes change.  Prepares paperwork required for Courts and/or District Attorney's Office.  Types correspondence, reports, and documents.  Maintains files and records. Enters data into computer.

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma/GED; Minimum 21 years of age.  Two years related job experience.  General secretarial principles/ procedures.  Good computer skills and must be able to type.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and deal effectively with the public.  Good written communication skills; ability to organize and prioritize own work.  Valid Texas Driver's License.  Bi-lingual preferred.

     

    SALARY: Part-Time $12.60/hour (Up to 28 hours a week)

    (Monday – Thursday 1:00 - 6:30 p.m.; Friday 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.)

    CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position

     

    For certain positions requiring certification, state standards shall disqualify an applicant if their criminal history reveals:

    1) A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years or current felony probation or parole

    2) A jailable misdemeanor conviction against the laws of this state, another state or the United States within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years or current misdemeanor probation or parole

    3) Registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
