Provides Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) support and maintenance in the daily operation of the Fort Bend County Public Transportation Department. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
Creates and manages SQL and Crystal Reports to collect and report data that FBCPT may need for reporting purposes and/or collect for service issues. Audits and monitors system input to ensure data accuracy for reporting and billing purposes. Audits and approves driver’s manifests to verify/collect data for reporting and billing purposes, including Performance Standards. Opens/Closes Days in Trapeze software so that the integrity of the data is not jeopardized. Maintains automated scheduling and dispatching hardware and software. Manages the existing Trapeze system and oversees the work carried out by the outsourced network of operations and technical support teams ensuring smooth operation of the network infrastructure and the support of client workstations. Ensures the system is performing accurately and efficiently. Identifies and corrects issues and errors. Generates reports and dashboards as needed for management. Implements and maintains business process, rules and workflows. Works with Trapeze to implement upgrades and test all changes made to the system. Manages projects that may come together in the release of a software system. Analyzes current IT resources for sustainability and project growth and advises senior management. Identifies, designs and implements process automation for improved functioning of existing software, more reliable communication and tracking systems, and eliminates manual processes so that all potential auditing data is captured and maintained per governing body regulations. Provides ITS software system maintenance in the daily transit operations. Identifies and implements ways to optimize and integrate the collection of data. Acts as the Liaison to the IT Department on software issues and interfaces with internal department staff and with external agencies. Prepares routine and ad-hoc operations reports on a regular basis. Analyzes data; reports findings and makes recommendations to senior management. Reports operations data to National Transit Database annually. Responds as necessary and when necessary during emergency events. Emergency events include bus or facility accidents or threats and/or other events involving safety, security or emergency management response. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during emergencies as directed by appropriate county managers.
High School Diploma/GED; Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and/or Related Field preferred or 4 years equivalent experience. Three years job related experience. Transit related experience preferred. Strong computer skills; Strong verbal and written communication, math and /or accounting; Strong in Microsoft software applications. Strong leadership, problem solving and project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials. Bilingual preferred.
SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 10, $1,455.20 - $1,712.80 biweekly based on qualifications
