Under the supervision of the (MCO) Marketing and Communications Office Manager, develops original content and suggests creative ways to attract patrons and promote the library brand; increase social media presence; increase visibility of library and library brand throughout our diverse community. May participate in planning of policies and objectives for own work group and department.
Interacts with library patrons via social media in a positive manner; able to handle compliments, complaints and issues in a professional manner. Monitor all FBCL social media pages for accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation and ensure branch libraries are adhering to FBCL branding requirements. Research audience preferences and discover current trends; stay current with changes and trends in all social media platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness. Research and monitor other libraries social media outlets. Create engaging text, image and video content; record, edit and post videos on a variety of topics. Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers such as promotions and competitions. Work with MCO manager to develop an optimal posting schedule; set-up daily tasks and activity for all social media outlets. Design posts to sustain reader’s curiosity and create buzz around library news, programs and services. Measure web traffic and monitor SEO. Report on online reviews and feedback from patrons and social media followers; deliver monthly reports with statistics and results for each account. Report directory to MCO manager and collaborate with the E-services Technician and Communications Specialist to ensure a cohesive social media identity. Assist with publicity for library events such as festivals, performances, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in related field. One-year job related experience. Public library experience preferred.
Understanding and working knowledge of multiple social media platforms; excellent written communication skills, with emphasis on proofreading and grammar; in-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics; ability to deliver creative content (text, image, video); familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels; multitasking and analytical skills; video editing and graphic design knowledge; ability to meet deadlines. May require evening and weekend work. Requires Valid Texas Driver’s License.
SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 8, $1,263.20 - $1,487.20 biweekly based on qualifications
