  • Overview

    Assists Animal Services and the Community Involvement Coordinator to connect with pet lovers in the Fort Bend County community through social media as well as provide other clerical support to the department.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.


    Creates content posted in social media and is proficient in using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc. and works with the staff to update the Fort Bend County Animal Services web page on the Fort Bend County website.  Takes photos and videos of available pets at the shelter.  Writes descriptions of the pets and networks them to the public for adoption or rescue.  Responds, as appropriate, to social media inquiries on the pets that are available at the shelter.  Assists with answering phone inquiries.  Contacts rescue groups, via phone or email, to place animals.  Assists with adoptions, rescues, fosters and offsite adoption events.  Works a weekend rotation schedule.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.


    High School Diploma/GED; Two years job related experience.  Knowledge of posting content to social media platforms.  Ability to write clearly and accurately, using proper grammar. Strong computer and typing skills.  Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database software.  Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.


    SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 6, $1,148.00 - $1,351.20 biweekly based on qualifications
