  • Overview

    Performs a variety of grant and administrative functions to facilitate effective coordination and operation of the Transportation Department.  Manages document flow; monitor and maintain grant files, assist with grant applications, budgets, and reporting.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

    Responsibilities

    Monitors grant files, including revenue contracts and Inter-Local agreements.  Creates, monitors and maintains documentation and schedules as required by FTA, TxDOT and/or Local Partners.  Prepares monthly grant reimbursement requests for review and approval.  Assists with budget monitoring.  Assists with Grant applications.  Reconciles, prepares and submits weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Financial and Milestone Reports.  Assists Grants & Budget Manager and/or Finance & Administration Manager with special projects as needed, including but limited to Federal and State funding research.  Assists in the Triennial Review preparation.  Assists in the TxDOT/FTA Review Preparation.  Assists in answering incoming calls.  Serves as back up Agenda Coordinator.  Represents the Department in Court Briefings and in Commissioners Court when needed.  Assists in Requisitions for any large Procurements.  Coordinates Public Notices and Hearings as they relate to grant applications/funding when needed.    Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. 

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma/GED; College Degree preferred.  Three years job-related experience.  Grant experience preferred.  Strong computer skills; strong verbal and written communication, strong math and/or accounting background.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.  Valid Driver's License.  Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

     

    SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 9, $1,409.60 - $1,656.80 biweekly based on qualifications
