  • Overview

    Provides administrative support to department, public and other departments to ensure effective, efficient and productive workflow.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.


    Responds to incoming telephone calls and in-person requests from the public, County employees, attorneys, law enforcement, and staff members, provides assistance and/or directs to the appropriate person.  Prioritizes needs of applicants for protective orders.  Prepares and maintains legal documents, files, and legal research items including docket preparation.  Prepares legal pleadings reviewed by attorneys, and conducts witness/victims accompaniment.  Takes statements of victims when assigned.  Inputs cases and related data to computer and prepares reports from same data.  Monitors database information system.  Serves as Notary Public.  Makes referrals to Social Services, shelters, counseling, as needed.  Assists and instructs other employees with their duties.  Reviews work with others.  Acts on employees’ problems and recommends selection of new employees.  Interpretation in Spanish as requested or required.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. 


    High School Diploma/GED; Three years job related experience.  Strong computer and typing skills (minimum 40 wpm).  Ability to interact effectively with other employees and the public.  Strong verbal skills.  Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Word.  Ability to lift file boxes that weigh 30-40 pounds.  Ability to work required overtime as needed.  Bi-lingual highly preferred.   


    SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 7, $1,227.20 - $1,444.80 biweekly based on qualifications
