Responsible for enforcing state and county laws and providing contract patrol coverage for assigned area. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
Patrols contract area as a deterrent to crime. Assists public within scope of authority. Serves civil papers as directed. Serves criminal warrants as directed. Conducts property checks on homes and buildings in assigned area. Takes reports and secures and preserves crime scenes. May handle court security – Bailiff duties. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
High School Diploma/GED; Basic TCOLE certification. One-year job experience or two years of college (60 Credit Hours). Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to interact effectively with the public. Valid Texas Drivers License and firearms proficiency.
SALARY RANGE: Law Enforcement Grade 9, $1,810.40 - $1,986.40 biweekly based on qualifications
