  • Overview

    Ensures Library property is effectively maintained on a daily basis.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.


    Performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as required.  (Changing light bulbs and ballasts are a requirement, etc.)  Paints facilities.  Assembles and moves furniture and equipment as needed.  Maintains routine check on general conditions of buildings assigned.  Delivers items between branches and vendors.  Pick-up trash in the parking lot of all branches on a daily basis.  Keeps janitor’s supply closet filled.  Sets up meeting rooms before library-sponsored programs and takes down after completion of programs.  Troubleshoots and resets fire suppression system.  Requisitions materials and makes emergency repair purchases for the library.  Maintains and monitors all adjustments to HVAC energy management system.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.


    High School Diploma/GED; One year related job experience.  Basic knowledge of air conditioning, electrical and plumbing repairs.  Good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, with ability to deal effectively with people.  Valid Driver’s License.  Able to work evening and weekends. 


    SALARY RANGE: Operator/Skilled Trade Grade 5, $1,179.20 - $1,387.20 biweekly, based upon qualifications
