Overview

Operates light and heavy equipment to maintain County roads, bridges and rights of way.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities

  • Sprays herbicide and insecticide chemicals. 
  • Performs concrete work.  
  • Performs work with road crew.  Patches pot holes.  Grades elevations. 
  • Repairs signs, fences and watergates.   Repairs bridges. 
  • Mows County ditches and road easements. 
  • Performs shop duties and utility person duties as necessary.  
  • Held accountable for equipment and uniforms issued. 
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • One year job related experience. 
  • Good driving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with other employees. 
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

 

SALARY RANGE:  $17.60 - $22.00 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE:  Upon filling position
