JOB SUMMARY:

Performs physical labor to build and maintain structures in the Drainage District's maintained drainage channels. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

• Builds, installs and/or maintains bridges, low water crossings, watergates, drop inlet pipes, fences and similar structures in district's maintained drainage channels.
• Operates light equipment, drives dump truck and winch truck, operates loader and fork lift when building or maintaining bridges or other structures.
• Builds fences and watergates; helps with and sets pipe when required.
• Pours concrete at low water crossings.
• Signs for and is held financially responsible for equipment issued.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

• High School Diploma/GED.
• One year job related experience.  
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees;
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely fashion. 
• Requires understanding to carry out detailed instructions, complete printed forms, and make notes. 
• Must have the ability to swim and work at heights up to 25 feet.  

SALARY RANGE: $17.60 - $22.00 hourly based on qualifications
