JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises defendants that have been ordered to abide by various conditions of their bond while they are released from custody awaiting case disposition. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with defendants in the office, outside of the office for vehicle inspections, alcohol/drug testing, and the inspectional of satellite monitoring/SCRAM anklets.
  • Accompanies defendants to the drug testing lab to both directly observe defendants produce urine specimens and conduct on site drug and alcohol testing, hair specimen collection, breath testing via the use of a portable breathalyzer, and preparation of both urine and hair specimens to be sent to an outside lab for testing, and ensure that change of custody is preserved.
  • Refers clients to outside vendors for the installation of various monitor devices, which include satellite monitoring anklets, SCRAM anklets, ignition interlock devices, and computer monitoring software; Verifies installation of said monitoring devices and reviews and analyzes the data contained in the monitoring reports received from each vendor to determine if further investigation is needed to verify a violation has occurred.
  • Document in the case management system all relevant events related to the supervision of each defendant assigned to the Pre-Trial Monitors caseload, to include compliance with and violations of bond conditions.
  • Conducts investigations into alleged violations of bond conditions, which can include contact with victims of defendants, collecting sworn statements from a victim and the collection of supporting information which supports the victim’s claim of contact.
  • Requests and obtains offense reports from arresting agencies once the Pretrial Monitor has been alerted to the fact that a defendant has been arrested.
  • Refers defendants to court ordered treatment programs; Verifies compliance through contacts with treatment providers and/or progress reports.
  • Reports defendants with an active arrest warrant reports to FBC Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED; Associates degree or some college preferred.  
  • Two years job related experience.  
  • Strong computer and typing skills (Minimum 40 wpm)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned projects.   
  • Subject to irregular work hours; including weekends & holidays.  
  • Bilingual Preferred.   

SALARY RANGE: $19.32 - $24.15 hourly based on qualifications
