JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains inventory of county property by identifying, locating and reporting county’s fixed assets and transfers.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all new County fixed assets are tagged and proper documentation is provided to the County Auditor’s Office.  
  • Maintains surplus property warehouse.  
  • Coordinates all aspects of the surplus property auctions and vehicle/heavy equipment auctions, including but not limited to preparing all necessary paperwork, coordinates with departments for delivery of surplus property, coordinates with departments for auction day workers and ensure auctioneer is prepared.  
  • Completes tagging of county fixed assets by inspecting product, applying tag and completing documentation to comply with Texas Local Government Code. 
  • Assists Inventory Manager with 100% annual inventory of fixed assets. 
  • Coordinates the movement, storage redeployment, and disposal of surplus property to maximize its use. 
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
  • Physical demands include occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • One year of job related experience; warehouse/logistics management preferred.  
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials. 
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.  
  • Must operate county vehicle and wear steel-toed boots.  
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Recommended: Forklift certified.

SALARY RANGE: $17.60 - $22.00 hourly, based on qualifications
